Already this makes Aliens like Stinkfly (a giant fly that can fly but smells so can't stealth well and can't fly if wet), XLR8 (Can run very fast but somewhat frail) and Ripjaws (a giant Fish Monster) redundant and situational at best. One of the biggest examples is in the next show, Ben gets an Alien Called Jetray who can fly at Supersonic speeds and can breathe underwater and in space and shoot laser beams. Wildwine is worse than Swampfire who loses the weakness to fire). But getting more Alien forms end up making some of this other forms redundant or give him forms that don't have the same weaknesses (Benmummy is basically a worse Wildvine. So if Ben ends up transforming into Wildwine in a bad situation, he needs to work around that.
But is weak to fire, chemcials that damage plants etc. Like one of his Alien formed called Wildwine is a plant based alien that has increased strength, can stretch his limbs, control other plants, make explosive seed grenades etc. His Aliens tend to have both strengths and weaknesses. My argument is that Ben 10 the show is at its best when Ben has challenges to face and limits to work around. because these stories tend to allow more sides of the characters to shine.įunnily, I dislike the addition of more Aliens. I personally preferred the episodes that were more serious in tone like Ben dealing with Ghostfreak, Ben stuck in a gladiatorial spaceship, Ben meeting Kevin etc. The action was great and the stories and characters were decent. He spends his summer being a Superhero and travelling the US with his Cousin Gwen who gets magic powers and his grandfather Max who was part of a secret group of alien hunters called "plumbers". The premise of the show is that during a summer vacation, 10 year old Ben Tennyson finds an Alien Device called the Omnitrix that lets him transform into (initially) 10 different aliens.
